Wilma Reser Running “GG” to all who loved her.

It is with heartfelt gratitude and love that we share the passing of our beloved GG, Wilma Reser Running, a very important part of our family. We will miss her. Wilma passed away peacefully on September 17, 2026, at the age of 106, to be with the Lord. Wilma was born on March 26, 1920, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Ernest and Anna Reser. She brought strength, love, laughter, and God’s love to everyone she met.

She married Orville Running, and together they had two beautiful daughters, Karen Running Matushka and Peggy Running Lampert. Over the years, Wilma became “GG” to countless people who were blessed to call her their chosen grandmother, mother, or family. She was known as “Sis” by her six brothers and one sister, who sadly passed away as a toddler. Wilma was the leader—and, according to her siblings, the bossiest!

Wilma worked outside the home at Coldwater State Home, but her greatest work was always caring for others. She believed strongly in helping anyone who needed her. She was an amazing woman who taught her family lessons that will remain with us forever: “It is what it is,” and “This too shall pass.” Most importantly, she taught us to turn to God, because He will never fail us. And secretly, we all knew we were her favorite—LOL! When asked what her secret was to living 106 years, GG simply said, “Christ and keep moving.” Those words truly captured the way she lived her life—with faith, perseverance, love, and a determination to keep going.

Her family grew tremendously throughout her 106 years. She leaves behind two daughters, six grandchildren, six more grandchildren through marriage, fifteen great-grandchildren, twenty-two great-great-grandchildren, one great-great-great-grandchild, and many beloved nieces and nephews. But numbers cannot truly measure the family she created. Her love reached far beyond generations and into the hearts of countless people who were fortunate enough to know her.

Faith and family were the most important things to GG. Through life’s celebrations, trials, and tribulations, she was always there loving us through them all, praying for us, encouraging us, and reminding us to trust in God. We are so very blessed to have had 106 years with her. Her love, laughter, strength, faith, and wisdom will live on in all of us. Until we meet again, GG. We love you, and we will miss you dearly.
