William Edward Hamilton Jr., known lovingly as Bill, passed away peacefully at his home in Allegan, Michigan, on December 21, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on May 17, 1938, in Chicago, Illinois, Bill was the son of William Edward Hamilton Sr. and Mildred Ethel (Lockard).

Bill shared 54 devoted years of marriage with his beloved wife, Arlene Joyce (Weidman), who preceded him in death in 2016. Together, they built a life centered on family, hard work, and unwavering love.

A proud father, Bill is survived by his daughters Debbie Troy, Sherri Kolar (John), and Dawn Wornhoff (Greg). He was preceded in death by his daughter Laurie Hamilton. Bill was cherished by his nine grandchildren and eighteen great‑grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense joy and pride.

Bill dedicated 36 years of his career to RR Donnelley in Chicago, where he worked as a Stationary Engineer. He often spoke fondly of his time there and proudly referred to himself as the “last man standing” at the Printer’s Row location; a testament to his loyalty, resilience, and strong work ethic.

In his younger years, Bill served as president of his car club, reflecting his lifelong love of automobiles. He enjoyed boating, fishing, traveling, and taking on countless home projects such as building decks, digging ponds, and tackling whatever Arlene dreamed up. His hands were always busy, and his heart was always full.

Bill will be remembered as a patient, kind, and deeply devoted family man. His steady presence, gentle humor, and quiet strength enriched the lives of all who knew him. His absence leaves a profound void, and he will be missed immensely.

A celebration of Bill’s life will be held in the spring of 2026, when family and friends will gather to honor his memory and the legacy he leaves behind.
