Warren Paul Vallerand, a cherished husband, father, Jaja, brother, and friend, unexpectedly passed away on June 5, 2025, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Born on February 22, 1958, in Long Beach, California, Warren left a lasting mark on all who knew him, embodying kindness and generosity throughout his life.
Warren’s unwavering dedication to his profession was exemplified by his distinguished career as an oral surgeon. He established and nurtured his own practice in Michigan. Warren also served tirelessly in support of veterans through his work with Veteran's Affairs in Dayton, Ohio. His commitment to the health and well-being of his patients mirrored the gentle spirit he exhibited in all facets of his life.
A scholar at heart, Warren pursued his education with great fervor, attending the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and the University of Florida for his dental schooling, and ultimately obtaining his medical degree from Rutgers University. His academic accomplishments were merely a backdrop to the embodiment of wisdom and compassion he imparted both personally and professionally.
Warren was a man of many passions. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, often seen playing with his beloved dogs, Carly Rose and Duc. His love for history was matched only by the enjoyment he got out of reading and his enthusiasm for music, with the melodies of The Beatles, Pink Floyd, and Tom Petty forming the soundtrack to his memorable moments of life. He and Jaci also loved traveling, especially to St. Kitts and Oahu/Maui and many other countries in between, which created memories that will forever be cherished.
In the warmth of his family, Warren flourished. His devotion to his loving wife, Jacquelin Vallerand, was profound; together, they shared a bond that was both inspiring and admirable. Warren’s heart swelled with pride for his children, Kate (Matthew Tupps) Vallerand and Ben (Amy) Vallerand, and his legacy continues with the four bright lights of his life—grandchildren Cameron, Case, Claire and Teddy. As a brother, he embraced his sibling, Bruce (Angie) Vallerand, with the same love and camaraderie that colored his relationships with all who entered his life.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, who remember him not only for his gentle spirit but also for the fierce love he bore for those he cherished. Preceding him in death, were his parents, Joseph and Roberta (Beach) Vallerand, and his brother, Ron Vallerand. Warren leaves behind a legacy steeped in love, laughter, and memories that will resonate through the lives he touched.
A memorial gathering to honor Warren’s life will be held at Family First Funeral & Cremation Services in Marcellus, Michigan, on Friday, June 20, 2025. Family and friends are invited to celebrate his legacy starting at 1:00 PM, followed by a Time of Sharing to begin at 2:00 PM.
Though the world has dimmed with his untimely passing, Warren's light will forever shine in our hearts.
