Trevor Allen
Long
July 10, 2002 – May 3, 2026
Trevor Allen Long, age 23, of Allegan, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on May 3, 2026, in Paw Paw, Michigan. He was born on July 10, 2002, in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Trevor was a whole personality from the very beginning. He was funny, weird in the best possible way, hardworking, loving, and fiercely protective of the people he cared about. He grew up in a home built on blunt honesty and deep love, surrounded by parents, grandparents, and family members who made sure he always knew he was loved. Though he could be restless as a teenager and battled his own inner demons growing up, Trevor worked hard to become the man he wanted to be. Those closest to him watched him transform anger into determination and strength, building a life centered around family, hard work, and loyalty.
One of the family stories that will live on forever was the day Trevor injured both ankles after attempting to jump down a full flight of stairs because, as he explained to his mother, he had asked himself, “What would Vin Diesel do?” Trevor truly believed he could land it just like the movies. Stories like that perfectly captured his spirit: fearless, impulsive, hilarious, and unforgettable.
Trevor could talk to anyone. When he became passionate about something, his entire face and body joined the conversation. Whether he was discussing the gym, jujitsu, diesel mechanics, motorcycles, or some new health gadget he had just bought, people were naturally drawn to him. He had a quiet strength about him. Though physically strong, those who knew him best understood he was really a giant teddy bear.
He was deeply devoted to his family and especially protective of his sisters. Whether it was killing spiders, buying food when someone was short on money, or simply showing up when he was needed, Trevor made sure the people he loved felt cared for. He showed love in his own sometimes awkward way, but there was never a doubt it was there. He was a big hugger, always saying “Love you” as he walked out the door.
Trevor was engaged to the love of his life, Kenna, and he was incredibly proud of the future they were building together. She made him happy, grounded him, and brought out some of the very best parts of who he was. His family will always be grateful for the love they shared and for the way Kenna saw and loved Trevor so completely. She often said she felt safe with him, and Trevor embraced being her protector.
Trevor worked as a mobile diesel mechanic alongside his father, a job he genuinely loved. He enjoyed working with his hands, solving problems, learning new skills, and building something meaningful for himself. His work ethic was unmatched. Even after failing his brake certification exam seven times, Trevor refused to quit and proudly passed on the eighth attempt, proving exactly who he was: determined, resilient, and unwilling to give up.
Outside of work, Trevor loved the gym and martial arts. Fitness gave him purpose and direction, and he poured himself into it fully. He quietly helped others at his gym without expecting recognition or payment, simply because he cared. He held the gym’s record for the heaviest squat and was always encouraging others to push themselves harder. He also loved riding his motorcycle, golfing, smoking cigars with his dad while talking about life, going out for breakfast, watching YouTube videos, playing pickleball with family, and spending time with his cats.
Trevor had an incredible sense of humor, often laughing hardest at jokes most people probably should not laugh at. He shared that humor most with his dad, and together they could spend hours laughing until their stomachs hurt over conversations nobody else fully understood. Just days before his passing, his family remembers hearing one of Trevor’s full belly laughs while watching a puppy, a sound they will never forget.
Though Trevor had faced struggles in his younger years, including learning to overcome anger and making the choice to stop drinking and build a healthier life, he became someone others looked up to. He taught those around him that hard work can help overcome even the darkest battles and that it is never too late to become a better version of yourself.
Trevor is survived by his father, Brad Long; his mother, Amber Long; his sisters, Emma and Bree; his fiancée, Kenna; his grandparents; extended family; countless friends; and the many people whose lives he impacted simply by showing up, listening, helping, or making them laugh.
He was preceded in death by loved ones who welcomed him home.
More than anything, Trevor will be remembered for the love he gave, the strength he fought for, and the way he made people feel safe, accepted, and understood. His family hopes to honor his life by continuing to fight for happiness the same way Trevor fought to better himself every single day.
The world feels quieter without Trevor in it, but his love, humor, strength, and spirit will continue to live on in every story shared, every laugh remembered, and every life he touched. A Celebration of Life is being planned for the near future, please check back for details as they become available.
