Terry Lee Kingsbury, age 56, passed away at Bronson Hospital on 03/07/2026 from a major heart attack that he had the day before. He had 3 stents to the heart put in last year and had to deal with cellulitis in the leg, colitis and bouts of alcoholism and participated in AA meetings frequently. He was a very good mechanic and helped many people with their vehicles. Terry had the biggest heart and was always helping others. He loved his wife, children and grandchildren and dog, Luna. He also loved big trucks INCLUDING his own, drag racing, stock car racing, hockey, the Detroit Red Wings, was a Michigan fan and liked going to get his mother-in-law scratch off lottery tickets. He worked as a mechanic, fixing autos, snow plowing, did some landscaping work, worked at Paris Cleaners for a period and did some road construction.

Terry attended Portage High School and Portage Adult Education. He spent most of his time working and living in the greater Kalamazoo area and liked to travel when he could. He had a great sense of humor and loved his dogs.

Terry was preceded in death by his grandparents Merrill and Violet Marie (Hawkins) Kingsbury and his other grandparents, William & Helen Gates. He is survived by his wife, Cari Siebel Kingsbury, his Father: Robert L. Kingsbury, Stepmother: Jill L Kingsbury, Mother: Janet I Gates Jones, Stepfather: Steve Jones with many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is also survived by his son’s family, Tyler & Kaylie Kingsbury, granddaughters Zoey Marie Bolen, Nora Lynne Kingsbury and daughter Lauren and husband Samuel Carpenter with baby granddaughter Carpenter coming soon and Terry had 3 Stepsons from previous marriages: Tyler Davis, Cody Davis, Douglas Buell Jr and 1 Stepdaughter from previous a previous marriage: Jessica White. Terry’s Stepdaughter, Sonia & husband Scott Lenfield, Stepson, Robert Mason and Step grandson Cody John Mason through wife, Cari.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Terry L. Kingsbury on March 21st from 1 until 4pm (speakers starting about 2pm) at the VFW Portage Post at 8855 S. Sprinkle Rd, Kalamazoo, Mi 49002. There is a Go Fund Me Project where you may donate funeral expenses to the family on Terry’s Facebook page.
