Terressa Lynne
Finney
March 23, 1960 – June 2, 2026
Terressa Lynne Finney, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on June 2, 2026, in Paw Paw, Michigan. Born on March 23, 1960, in Battle Creek, Michigan. Terressa lived a life marked by love, care, and an unwavering thoughtfulness toward others.
Throughout her life, Terressa worked as a CNA in home health, dedicating herself to the care and comfort of those in need. Her deeply compassionate nature shone through in both her professional and personal life, where she was known for her loving spirit and her habit of giving the greatest hugs—an embrace she generously and excitedly shared with all who knew her.
Terressa found joy in simple pleasures that brightened her days. She had a fondness for Speedway’s fountain Pepsi, which she dearly loved. Her enthusiasm for computer games such as ToonTown, ArcheRage, and Wizards 101 provided moments of fun and connection. Above all, Terressa cherished spending time with her family and took immense pleasure in watching her grandsons’ wrestling matches. These relationships were a cornerstone of her happiness and a testament to her cherished role within her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Manda Benny, her children; Joey Finney with her girlfriend Zeya Scott, Adam Benny with his girlfriend Renee Hemenway, and Manda’s youngest child, Aros Benny. Terressa’s son, Matthew Finney, his wife, Emily, and Terressa’s sister Valerie Baldwin, who also carry forward her legacy. She was a proud stepmother to Elizabeth Graham with her husband Daniel, their children Brooklynn and Xavier Graham, as well as Rebecca Wills, married to Jonathan, with their children Benjamin and Joshua.
Terressa’s legacy continues through her nephews Christopher Dillard, with his children Azryel Dillard and Sebastian Rathe, and Terry Dillard, with his children Emma and Tommy and wife Jenny Dillard, her niece, Gina Higdon, Gina’s daughter Giana Olmstead, and Azryel’s mother Heather Rathe, who Terressa loved as her own. Beyond her family, Teressa’s life had also touched the hearts of Quaviere Mason-Cooper, Peggy Gregg and Hailey Richards, who despite not being blood related, were just as big of a part in her life, and were just as much family as anyone else. Quaviere was her son, Hailey was her granddaughter and Peggy was her sister. She always went above and beyond to express her love did not change solely because of blood.
Her passing leaves an astoundingly profound void, as she was preceded in death by her parents, Jeanette Varandoe and Marshall Dillard; her husband, David Finney; and her sisters, Stephanie Bont and Kerstin Gonzales. These losses mark the final chapter in Terressa’s life story, yet the love and kindness she embodied remain enduringly present and continue on into the lives she had inspired.
Terressa's warmth, kindness, and generous spirit touched the lives of many. She will be remembered not only for her caring nature and affection, but for the genuine love she found in family, friendship, and the jokes she would tell, never failing to make a room burst into laughter at a moment's notice and bring up everyone’s spirits. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her, love her, and be loved by her.
