Tammy Marie Hackworth, born on June 17, 1959, in Coldwater, Michigan, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2025, in her hometown. Tammy was a beacon of love and dedication, whose unwavering commitment to her career and family defined her life.

As a manager at Speedway, Tammy created a legacy built on hard work and exceptional customer service. She garnered numerous awards throughout her career, consistently striving for excellence. Among her proudest achievements was her tireless effort to support the Children’s Miracle Network, ensuring her branch excelled year after year. Her job was not merely employment; it was a massive part of her identity and a testament to her dedication.

Tammy's role as a devoted mother and grandmother stood as the core foundation of her life. She lovingly spoiled her grandchildren and cherished every moment spent with them. Her children—Amy, Robert, and Shawn—acknowledge that their successes owe much to the strength and support she provided throughout their lives. Holidays held a special magic for Tammy, and she reveled in creating treasured memories during those times. With an innate ability to switch seamlessly from family mode to work mode, she embodied the qualities of a busy yet capable matriarch.

Beyond her family, Tammy's loving heart extended into the community. She was always present to lend a helping hand, demonstrating compassion at every opportunity. A notable memory shared by her family is when she paused her own tasks during a fire near her workplace to bring water to the firefighters, showcasing her instinct to care for those in need.

A devoted follower of the Lord, Tammy thrived in her faith. Her knowledge of scripture was impressive; she could readily recall Bible verses and shared her faith openly with others. Her personal battles were marked by resilience, as she triumphed over cancer twice, embodying true strength throughout her journey.

Tammy's vibrant personality shone through her interests and hobbies. A fan of Yahtzee, she managed to draw others into the game, regardless of their initial enthusiasm. Her love for NASCAR was evident, with Jeff Gordon and Kyle Larson being her favorite drivers. Equally passionate about University of Michigan football, she cherished watching games, especially the season opener alongside her son Shawn.

Tammy is survived by her lifelong partner Bobby McKeague Sr. of Coldwater City, Michigan; her mother Evelyn Collins and stepfather Don Collins, both of Union City, Michigan; siblings Leo Copas of Three Rivers, Michigan, Don Copas II of Louisville, Kentucky, and Teresa McCloud of Indianapolis, Indiana; children Amy, Bobby Jr., and Shawn of Coldwater, Michigan; grandchildren Alex Hackworth of Chicago, Illinois, and Tyler Hackworth of Deltona, Florida; great-grandchild Xela Isabella Hackworth of Chicago, Illinois; as well as nieces April Hedglin, April Copas, Melissa Spires, and nephews Steven Wolfinger and Don Copas III. She also leaves behind many other family members and close friends who loved her dearly and cherished the profound impact she had on their lives.

Tammy was preceded in death by her father Donald Copas and her sister, who was also her best friend, Connie Copas-Wolfinger.

In honor of her memory, a private gravesite service will be held for immediate family at a later date, respecting the family's wishes to keep this information private. Tammy Marie Hackworth's spirit will continue to be celebrated by all those who were fortunate enough to know her.
