Steven Ray Boven Sr. passed away peacefully on February 18, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones.

Steven was born on September 12, 1952, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to Harvey Boven and Eva Mae Folk (Ferry). He grew up in Martin, Michigan, where he developed a lifelong love of fishing, bowling, and spending time with family. Steven especially cherished the moments he shared with his children and grandchildren.

He dedicated many years of service as a custodian for Kalamazoo Public Schools, a job he truly loved until his retirement. Even after retiring, he remained close with former coworkers and friends, including Benny and Tom.

He is survived by his children, Becky Martin (Clinton), Steven Boven Jr., Sarah Boven, Staci Boven, and Jon Boven; as well as many beloved grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Kelly Folk Luteyn (Leonard), Michele Boven, Scott Folk, Paula Bryant, and David Folk.

Steven was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey Boven and Eva Mae Folk.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
