Sheryl Ann (Lane) Dunn, 72, of East Leroy, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2026.

Sheryl was born on May 20, 1953, in Battle Creek, Michigan, to Donald and Mary Lane. She graduated from Athens High School in 1971 and went on to dedicate many years to her work, serving with Transamerica Insurance Company, First Assembly Christian Preschool, and IBA Insurance Company. She later retired from Aramark in 2015. In every role she held, Sheryl was known for her steady presence, warm smile, and strong work ethic.

A faithful member of Word For Life Church, Sheryl found great joy in serving others and spending time with her church family and friends. Her faith was a guiding light in her life, reflected in her kindness, generosity, and compassionate heart.

Sheryl especially loved baking and cooking for those she cared about. Her kitchen was often filled with the warmth of homemade meals and sweet treats made with love. She treasured time spent around bonfires with her family and carried a special place in her heart for missionary work in Uganda, East Africa, where she shared both her faith and her caring spirit.

She is lovingly remembered by her children and their spouses: Amy (Daniel) Lane, Carrie (Brian) Costie, and Derek (Courtney) Dunn. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Logan (Olivia) Costie, Cole, Dillon, and Nicholas Costie; Scott (Erin) Lane, Brian Lane, Aidan Lane; and Adeline and Alexis Dunn. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren Brenden, Chase, Bryce (Diana), MaKenna, and Gaven Lane, and was eagerly awaiting the arrival of a precious great-granddaughter in the coming month.

Sheryl is also survived by her brothers Dennis (Sheila) Lane, Richard Lane, Ronald (Kathy) Lane, and Norman Lane, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and by her beloved grandsons, Brian Robert Costie, Jr. and Benjamin James Lane.

In keeping with her wishes, Sheryl will be cremated, and a celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
