Marcellus, MI

Starts at 11:00 am (Eastern time)
It is with the deepest regret that we inform you of the passing of a lifelong Marcellus resident. Sheri Lynn (Meninga) Bethard, age 64, went home to be with her Lord peacefully surrounded by loved ones on September 13, 2026. She was born on June 7, 1962 in Kalamazoo, MI the daughter of Richard "Dick" and Linda Meninga of Marcellus.
After graduating from Marcellus High School in 1982, Sheri went on to work at LADD helping disabled individuals learn everyday activities. Following that, she went on to work at Peterson Springs in Three Rivers. In 2005, Sheri married the man she would spend the rest of her life with, William "Bill" Bethard. For the next 21 years the two would share life's ups and downs together. Sheri loved family get togethers where she would spend most of her time spoiling her grandchildren. She also had a great passion for garage sales, where you would see her searching through the box of "Free Stuff" they had out.
Sheri leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband, William Bethard; two children, Peter Matthews of Cassopolis and Casey (Mike) Biggs of Berrien Springs; grandchildren, Ryan (Lane) Biggs and Connor Biggs of Berrien Springs; step-children, Mary Matthews of Kalamazoo, Erica (Taylor) Bowen-Brewer of Paw Paw, Alyssa Bethard of Portage, David (Cheyenne) Bethard of Parchment and Nicole (Eric) Martin of Schoolcraft; sister, Lori (Mike) Niscola; brother, Scott (Kathy) Meninga. As well as many other loved ones which will mourn her loss deeply, including her tabby cat, Tigger, who has been her shadow for 16 years.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at First Baptist Church of Newberg, 13021 Born St. Jones, MI 49061. Following the service, family and friends are warmly invited to stay for a reception at the church.
