It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Serena Kay Jinkins, a beloved wife, sister, and cherished friend, who departed from this world on September 19, 2025, at the age of 43. Born on May 23, 1982, in Berrien Springs, Serena was the embodiment of kindness and joy. With her bright blue eyes and magnetic personality, she had a unique ability to light up any room she entered, bringing happiness to those fortunate enough to be in her presence.
Serena was the heart and soul of gatherings, serving as the life of the party. Her infectious laugh was a melody that warmed the hearts of family and friends alike. Jason, her devoted husband, often described her laughter as "inviting and awesome," and her unwavering spirit brought comfort and joy to everyone around her. She was a pillar of support, consistently seeking ways to assist others, a testament to her selflessness and compassion.
In her leisure time, Serena found true happiness in visiting loved ones, sharing meals—especially at Olive Garden, which held a special place in her heart—and reveling in the simplicity of nature. She cherished the solace of the outdoors, taking loving and relaxing drives with Jason, not for a destination, but for the joy of each other's company. Together, they created countless memories at the lake, where they often enjoyed serene moments on a special bench, basking in the beauty of their surroundings.
Serena’s love extended beyond her family and friends; it also embraced the many pets she cherished throughout her life. Her beloved companions included her cat, Misfit, and her beagle, Hunter. She held dear the memories of her past pets, Sniper and Motley, who were treasured parts of her life when she was younger.
Serena leaves behind her devoted husband, Jason Jinkins; her beloved mother Karen Sirk; sister, Alysa (Jordan) Brant; step-sister, Ann Brant; sister-in-law, Chasity Adams; father-in-law, Marvin Jinkins; and a loving stepfather, John (Rhonda) Brant, who took care of her throughout much of her life. She will be fondly remembered by her cousins, Perry and Jeff Sirk, as well as her nieces, Kelsey and Samantha, her nephew, Jonah, and her grandpa, Richard Sirk. Additionally, she leaves behind her great nephew, Alexander, Aunt Darlene Kiser, and her uncles: Jeff, David, Ron, Keith, Rick and Kevin.
Serena was preceded in death by her beloved father, Richard and step-mom Karla Sirk; her grandmother, Mable; her great grandmothers Virginia and Kahler, and her mother-in-law, Donna Jean Jinkins. Also among those who have passed are her uncles, Guy, Dale and Rick.
Her radiant spirit and the love she so freely gave will be deeply missed. Though she may no longer walk among us, Serena's legacy of kindness, joy, and unwavering love will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she touched. As we celebrate the beautiful moments shared with her, we find comfort in knowing that her light will forever guide us.
