Scott Wayne Hicks, a beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away on March 31, 2026, in his hometown of Albion, Michigan. He was born on September 16, 1971, in Albion.

Scott found his peace in the outdoors. He enjoyed time along the river, taking pride in keeping his truck clean, and making sure his lawn was just right. He also loved spending time with his brother-in-law and good friend, Fred, whether it was grilling chicken, smoking pork, or simply relaxing with a glass of bourbon and good conversation.

Scott had a sharp sense of humor and a personality that some might have needed a moment to understand. Those who truly knew him knew his heart, his loyalty, and his ability to make people laugh. He was genuine, and he was himself, always.

He is survived by his siblings, Melinda Garza, Douglas (Alice) Hicks, and Carolyn Klomparens; his significant other, Dawn Chartrand; and many nieces and nephews, including Ciera, Matthew, Michael, Nicholas, Anna, Christin, and Melissa. He shared a close bond with his brother-in-law, Fred.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Ann Stairs, and his grandparents, Ira William Stairs and Lydia Belle Stairs.

Scott will be remembered for his humor, his love of the outdoors, and the simple moments he shared with those closest to him. He will be missed by all who knew him.
