Scot O. Newsom, passed away on April 18, 2025, at the age of 52. Born on February 18, 1973, in Battle Creek, Michigan, Scot dedicated his life to his passions, foremost among them being his love for cars and auto repair. After graduating from Battle Creek Central High School, Scot's enthusiasm for automobiles propelled him into a fulfilling career as a mechanic, where he was known for his expertise and dedication to his craft.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Scot was an avid sportsman and musician; he played semi-professional hockey and had a notable talent for playing the drums, reflecting a spirit that thrived on competition and creativity. His greatest joy, however, came from racing. He often participated in late model and street stock racing, where his love for speed and precision could be fully expressed.
He is survived by his son, Tyler, and stepdaughter, Whisperr. His mother, Bonnie Brooker, and siblings, Kelly Chapin and Teresa Newsom, along with his aunts and uncles—Harold, Gina, Candy, and Tim.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Newsom. There will be no services at this time.
