Roger Leroy Olson, a beloved brother, uncle, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on February18, 2026, at his home in Mattawan, Michigan. Born on February 9, 1952, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Roger's life was marked by his dedication to both family and personal passions.

Roger graduated from Vicksburg High School in 1970, where he actively participated in basketball, track, and the Future Farmers of America (FFA). His time in high school reflected his spirited nature and commitment to teamwork, traits that would carry through the rest of his life.

Following his education, Roger served honorably as a Navy Veteran, which showcased his sense of duty and service to his country. His military experience shaped him into a person of integrity and resilience.

Outside of his professional and military commitments, Roger pursued a variety of hobbies that brought him immense joy. He found pleasure in riding his motorcycle and had a deep appreciation for music, often expressing himself through playing the guitar. Additionally, he was an avid NASCAR fan, enjoying the thrill of the races and the camaraderie that came with it.

Roger’s legacy will be cherished by his surviving family, including his sisters, Cindy Peebles and Faye Homan, and his step-sister, Mary Batek. In addition, he is survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends who will remember him for his kindness and remarkable spirit.
