Robert Dean Ott, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2025, surrounded by his beloved family. Born on October 28, 1952, in Benton Harbor, Michigan, Robert dedicated his life to both his family and the family business, Best Creative Printing, where he worked for an impressive 40 years.
An Army Veteran, Robert served with honor and pride, reflecting the values of dedication and commitment that he upheld throughout his life. He married his loving wife, Carla Ott, on August 27, 1979, and together they built a nurturing home filled with love and support. Bob was a man of many passions. He enjoyed the thrill of drag racing and cherished the quiet moments spent fishing on the St. Mary's River. Additionally, he hunted in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, and in recent years in the Porcupine Mountains with his son, Nathan, and nephews, Jack and Tyler, enjoying the great outdoors. Above all, Bob looked forward to gatherings with his family, creating lasting memories that will be treasured for generations to come.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carla; his children, Tonya Brown, Nathan (April) Ott, and Shane Ott; and his four grandchildren, Devin, Jaden, Noelle, and Kristina. Robert was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Castalia and Luna. He leaves behind his siblings, Sharon, Teresa(Jim), Tammy(Rick), and Jerry. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Rolland and Virginia Ott, and brother-in-law Jack Williamson. His spirit continues to live on in the hearts of those he touched. He will be deeply missed. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
