Robert M. Lamont of Saugatuck, Michigan, passed away after a life distinguished by culture, curiosity, and friendship. Though he made Saugatuck his home in retirement; a town he first visited in 1998 and grew deeply fond of. Robert’s journey also carried him through Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, and Chicago, each city shaping chapters of his remarkable life.

Robert grew up in Los Angeles and spent much of his early career as Director of Operations for David Orgell, the renowned luxury gift, silver, and antiquities store on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. In 1992, with a business partner, he opened Uniquities, The Consignment House in West Hollywood, specializing in antique furniture, objets d’art, fine crystal, and silver.

In 2010, Robert relocated to Chicago, where he was associated with Saks Fifth Avenue on Michigan Avenue as a fine jewelry consultant. Upon retirement, he returned to Saugatuck, where he embraced the community and the lakeside town’s charm.

A voracious reader and connoisseur of fine food and wine, Robert appreciated the elegance of the Lincoln automobile, traveled to England and Ireland, and cherished the many friendships he cultivated throughout his lifetime. He was, in every sense, a Renaissance Man; cultured, inquisitive, and devoted to the art of living well.

Robert will be remembered with affection and respect by all who knew him, for his sophistication, warmth, and enduring friendships.
