As a grandfather, he cherished his roles with immense pride, finding joy in every moment spent with his grandchildren: Kaylee Miller, Damien Miller, Victoria Braciulyte, Landon Braciulis, Matthew Smart, Alexis Smart, and Alicia Smart. The bond he formed with each grandchild was undeniably special, filled with laughter, lessons, and love. His heart swelled with joy as he welcomed his great-grandchildren—Ayvia Keiner, Elijah Keiner, Freyja Marsh, Taovani Paddyfoote, Charles, and Mia—into the world, and he was eagerly anticipating the arrival of two more great-grandchildren, a testament to his ever-growing family.
Richard had a remarkable ability to connect with others; he was a gentle spirit who was loved by everyone who met him. He possessed a warmth that drew people in, making friends wherever he went. His passion for life was evident in his hobbies and interests, particularly his love for football, cheering for the Michigan Wolverines and the Detroit Lions with fervor.
