IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Richard Allen
Eisner
September 11, 1946 – November 17, 2025
Richard Allen Eisner (known as Dick to many) of Bangor, Michigan, passed away peacefully at his home on November 17, 2025, surrounded by family. Born on September 11, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois, Richard spent his early years in the city before his family relocated to Kalkaska, Michigan, where he was raised.
Richard proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era, stationed in Germany. He also proudly supported his family by working for Du-Wel Products for over 30 years, alongside his brothers Raymond and Robert, until the company’s closing. During those three decades, he never once missed a day of work by calling in; a reflection of his unwavering dedication and sense of responsibility.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sharon Eisner, in March 2025. Richard missed her dearly and looked forward to their reuniting. He was also preceded in death by two children at birth and his seven siblings.
Surviving are his children, Shaun (Rebecca) Eisner and Brett (Jason) Eisner; his grandchildren Tara Williams, Allen (Sam) Williams, Mathew (Alexa) Williams, Alyssa Eisner, Gracie Eisner, Aaliyha Eisner, and Adriana Pérez Herrero; eleven cherished great-grandchildren; and eight exchange students for whom he served as a host grandfather. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.
Richard will be remembered as a kind and gentle soul, with quiet strength, steady presence, and the deep love he held for his family and community. It seemed as if even the neighborhood cats knew his heart, people would leave them near his home, knowing he’d leave the garage door slightly open and string a heat lamp from the rafters to keep them warm through the cold Michigan nights.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Legion Post 160 in Bangor, Michigan, or to the Al-Van Humane Society in South Haven.
