Richard Daniel, born on December 7, 1960, and passed away on October 17, 2026, was born and raised in Battle Creek, Michigan. He was the youngest of nine children and lived a life filled with family, personal interests, and lasting memories.

Richard retired in 2022 from Advantage Sintered Metals, where he worked as a quality control manager. Outside of work, he was an avid movie lover and comic book collector. He also enjoyed reading and spending time in the sunshine.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Fenton and Pauline Daniel; siblings Fred Daniel and Sally White; brothers-in-law Ed Crane and Ward White; and nephew Matt Crooks.

He is survived by his partner of more than 30 years, Sandra Garvison of Battle Creek, Michigan; his daughter, Kaydee Daniel, and granddaughter, Mila Berner, both of Port Saint Lucie, Florida.

He is also survived by his siblings: Tom Daniel of Spring Lake, Michigan; Cindy Daniel and Jim Wilbur of Fish Creek, Wisconsin; Polly Crane of Marshall, Michigan; Nancy Daniel and Rocco Martin of Petoskey, Michigan; Ed (Pat) Daniel of Berkley, Michigan; and Chris (Matt) Salchert of Springfield, Michigan. Richard also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.

Richard will be deeply missed by the family and friends who loved him. His passion for movies and comic books, his love of reading, and the simple joy he found in soaking up the sunshine were all part of what made him who he was. Though he may no longer be here to share in life’s little moments, the memories made with him and the love he gave will remain in the hearts of those who knew him. His presence will be missed, but his memory will be treasured always.

A funeral service will be held at St. Joseph’s Church in Battle Creek on November 4 at 11:00 a.m., with a luncheon to follow.
