Paul Oliverri Drzick, Sr., a man remembered for his infectious spirit and vibrant personality, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on January 19, 1963, in Kalamazoo, Paul lived his life with passion and a distinctive flair that touched everyone who knew him.

Paul was a true character, fondly remembered as a gifted storyteller who could captivate his audience with tales that, while sometimes fantastical, always brought laughter and joy. His love for entertaining was most evident during the Christmas season, where he took great pleasure in hosting gatherings that created lasting memories for family and friends alike.

An avid motorcycle enthusiast, Paul found great freedom and excitement in riding his beloved Harley. He also possessed a deep appreciation for music, with heavy metal being among his favorites. Paul’s love of cooking and barbequing brought delight to many; whether it was preparing meals for family or grilling at parties, he always infused these moments with love and camaraderie.

Devoted to his sports teams, Paul was a fan of the Detroit Lions and U of M, passionately supporting his teams with unwavering loyalty. His infectious enthusiasm extended to his interests outside of sports, as he loved to relax and enjoy life, often with a smoke in hand. Another one of his favorite hobbies was hunting morel mushrooms, which takes a keen eye, patience and just a little luck.

Paul is survived by his Baby Cakes and beloved partner of 15 years, Sherry Rigel, and his cherished children: Paul (Julia Faist) Drzick, Jr., Brandi (Steven) Luedecking, Ron (Donna Blanton) Anderson, and Brooke Anderson. He was a proud grandfather to two grandsons, David and Dawson, who were a source of immense joy in his life.

He also leaves behind his parents, LaMonte (Pat) Drzick and Della (Vic) Hinkle, as well as his loving siblings: Karen (Bob) Garrett, Kim (Greg) DeCamp, LaVern (Jody) Drzick, Michele (Scott) McWilliams, and Steven (Shannon) Drzick. Additionally, he is remembered by his special nephew, Tory (Nicole) Drzick, and his great niece and nephew, Charlotte and Ezra, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family, all of whom hold precious memories of time shared with Paul.

Paul O. Drzick, Sr.'s legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched with his humor, warmth, and zest for life. His stories, laughter, and love of family will be sorely missed but will forever remind us of the vibrant spirit he brought into the world. A Celebration of Life and bike run is being planned for the Spring of 2026. Details of this event will be announced once they are finalized.
