Nora Bell Zehner, born on March 6, 1939, in Berrien County, Michigan, passed away peacefully at her home in Sodus, Michigan, on May 10, 2026. She lived a full life rich with love, warmth, and cherished memories.

Nora was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her four children: Sue (Sidney) Statler, Jerry Zehner, Steven (Debbie) Zehner, and Dennis (Cheryl) Zehner. Her loving legacy continues through her nine grandchildren—Crystal (Tom) Warncke, Amber Statler, Ashley Statler, Christopher (Jessie Crain) Statler, Jordan Zehner, Madison Zehner, Josh Zehner, Kaylee Zehner, Dylan Chubb and Derrick Tomlinson —and her three great-grandchildren: Corey Warncke, Logan Warncke, and Keegan Warncke. Nora was also blessed with the companionship of her two sisters, Linda (Charlie) Ratliff and Carol Engelhart.

Nora was preceded in death by her parents, Columbus and Verda Harris; her beloved husband, Gerald Roman Zehner; her siblings Bobby, Emmajean, Oscar, Charles, and Walter; and her brother-in-law, Mitch Engelhart.

Those who knew Nora remember her gentle spirit and her love for simple joys. She delighted in crocheting lovingly crafted items and had a fondness for treasure hunting at rummage sales. Nora’s heart was warmed by the timeless tunes of Elvis Presley and the classic humor of "I Love Lucy." A lover of nature’s beauty, she found happiness in flowers. Among her favorite indulgences were ice cream, especially vanilla and comforting Bob Evans potato soup, treats that brought her many moments of contentment. She also greatly enjoyed her grand puppies and her cat, Tux.

Nora’s life was a testament to kindness and devotion. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her, leaving behind a lasting impression of love and grace. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, treasured always. A Celebration of Life will be held on June 20, 2026 at 1:00pm at Twelve Corners Community Church, 3207 East Euclid Ave. Benton Harbor, MI 49022.
