South Bend

Myra Kristine Anderson, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and dear friend, left this world peacefully on May 6, 2025, at Memorial Hospital. Born in Elkhart, Indiana, on October 27, 1948, Myra embodied the spirit of ambition and positivity. She was a vibrant personality who was always spunky and supportive, cheering on her loved ones and believing that everyone had the potential for greatness.

Myra had a zest for life that was infectious. She embraced new experiences with open arms, whether it was traveling to unexplored places or diving into creative ventures, such as writing delightful children's books that brought joy and imagination to countless young minds. Her adventurous spirit was matched only by her profound love for horses, a passion that ran deep within her heart.

Gardening was another source of joy for Myra. She spent countless hours nurturing her garden, where geraniums and azaleas bloomed with the same brightness as her personality. Her home was not just a sanctuary, but a haven filled with cherished antiques and the warmth of her loyal dog, Oliver, who was her constant companion.

Myra leaves behind a legacy of love and a family that adores her dearly. She is survived by her son, James Everette Bishop Roberts; her daughter, Tabitha Autumn Halsaver; her sister, Dawn Delight Martin; her grandson, John Leigh Roberts; and her son-in-law, Justin Halsaver. Additionally, she is remembered fondly by Crystal Jameson, who shared a special bond with James, as well as many other family members and friends.

Though Myra experienced the heartache of loss, she was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Carol Bishop; her sister, Penny Sue Werner; her husband, Don Anderson; her second husband, Don McGinty; and her son, Jonathan Leigh Roberts. Yet, she never allowed the shadows of sorrow to dim her spirit. Instead, she found strength in her relationships, becoming a beacon of hope and resilience for all who knew her.

As we bid farewell to Myra, we cherish the memories of her laughter, her unwavering support and her unique ability to see the best in everyone. Her adventurous spirit, artistic soul, and nurturing heart have left an indelible mark on all our lives, reminding us to embrace each day with enthusiasm and kindness. Myra Kristine Anderson will be deeply missed but forever remembered by those whose lives she touched.
