Mikel G. Keeton, a self-employed handyman, passed away on March 26, 2025, at his home in Watervliet. Born on May 5, 1956, in Memphis, TN, Mikel lived a life dedicated to both his crafts and the people who meant the most to him.
Mikel was known for his exceptional skill in fixing things, which showcased not only his talents but also his commitment to helping others. His career as a handyman allowed him to touch the lives of many in his community, and he took great pride in his work. Mikel also found immense joy in fishing, often spending tranquil days by the water, where he felt most at peace. He balanced his professional life with his love for being around family and friends, always finding time to create memorable experiences with those he loved.
He leaves behind his stepmother, Mary Keeton of Bangor, along with numerous siblings who held a special place in his heart. His brothers and sisters, Joseph Keeton of Hartford, Patricia (Steve) McIntosh of Bangor, Ronnie Keeton of Bangor, Randy (Tammy) Keeton of Bangor, Tony (Christel) Keeton of Bangor, Teresa (Michael) Smith of Mississippi, Jessie (Sarah) Keeton of Bangor, Ila (Joe) Dennis of Lawton, Jannie Keeton of Bangor, Tammie Williams of Bangor, James Keeton of Bangor, and Ashely (Demetrius) Williams of Bangor; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Mikel was preceded in death by his father, Herll Eugene Keeton; his mother, Wilma Hill; his sister, Mary Diane Keeton; his beloved grandparents, Albert and Ada Keeton, and John and Mildred Hill; as well as many aunts and uncles, a niece and two nephews.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
