Michael John Leonard, age 69, of Lansing, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on May 16, 2026, in Lansing, Michigan. Michael was a hardworking man who dedicated much of his life to caring for his family and fulfilling his responsibilities. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on cars, a hobby that brought him pride, satisfaction, and at times, countless hours of headaches. Above all else, Michael cherished spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, who meant the world to him. Michael is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Connie Leonard (61); his children, Nicole Hanes (38) and Nicholas Hanes (35); and his four cherished grandchildren, Madison, Casen, Carter, and Maddix. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Georgia Leonard, and his brother, Steven Leonard. Michael will be remembered for his dedication, quiet strength, and deep love for his family. His presence touched the lives of many and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
