Michael Laurence Davis, a loving father, grandfather, and cherished friend, passed away on September 8, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on March 11, 1944, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Michael led a life marked by adventure, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to his family.

A passionate explorer at heart, Michael pursued the open road as a truck driver, a role that became the centerpiece of his enthusiastic life. His job offered him not only a livelihood but also the unique opportunity to traverse the vast landscape of the United States. He was immensely proud of having driven through all 48 contiguous states, with his faithful companion, Tippy Too, a spirited Boston Bull terrier, by his side. This profession not only filled his heart but also allowed him to forge lasting connections with clients across the nation, whether recounting tales of the road or simply sharing a friendly conversation.

Michael’s zest for life extended beyond the truck. In addition to being an Army veteran and a dedicated reservist police officer, he found joy in diverse interests such as bowling, where he formed friendships that spanned decades. No matter the venue or circumstance, he always remained a happy man, eager to explore the world and embrace what life had to offer.

As a fantastic provider, Michael deeply valued his role within his family. He is survived by his beloved children, Michael Davis Jr., Lisa Davis, and Shelly Torp-Zdawczyk, who will carry forward his legacy of love and resilience. His six grandchildren, Christopher, Cameron, Blade, Charlotte Rose, Kiegan, and Hayden, were a source of immense pride and joy. Michael’s love for them was evident in every conversation and story shared, and his influence will undoubtedly resonate in their lives for years to come.

Michael now reunites with his beloved wife, Dorothy Davis, and his cherished parents, Maurice and Hazel Davis, leaving behind a void that will be felt by all who knew him. A memorial service will be held at the American Legion at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor the remarkable man who filled their lives with positivity and warmth.

Rest in peace, dear Michael. Your adventurous spirit and unwavering love will forever remain in the hearts of those you held dear.
