Melissa Adele Shaw, a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on June 11, 2025, in White Cloud, MI, at the age of 51. Born on March 12, 1974, in Petoskey, MI, Melissa lived a life filled with warmth and compassion, touching the hearts of many who had the privilege to know her.
She was a dedicated mother to her two sons, Christian Shaw and Jace Lyons, and a proud grandmother to her grandson, Jasper Shaw. Melissa's love for her family was evident in all that she did; she was a constant source of support and encouragement, always eager to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
She is survived by her mother, Floralee Barton, and is remembered fondly by her sisters, Michelle (Randy) Mauk, Tracey Shaw (Paul), and Angela Bowen, as well as her brothers, Pete Shaw and Jimmy (Andrea) Shaw, and her aunt, Joann (Sonny) Leblanc. Melissa's legacy also lives on through several nieces and nephews, her cousins, and many close friends who cherished her presence in their lives.
Melissa was known for her love of the outdoors. She found joy in camping and spending serene days at the beach, where she delighted in the beauty of nature. Her generous spirit and unwavering desire to help others defined her character and endeared her to all who crossed her path.
Her departure leaves a profound void, especially among those who are grieving the loss of a remarkable woman. Melissa was preceded in death by her father, Clifford Shaw, and stepfather, Leroy Barton, along with her brother, John Shaw, her nephew, Kamien Edwardson, her two beloved aunts, Patricia Easton and Christine LeBlanc, and her grandparents from both the Shaw and Rivette families.
As we remember Melissa Adele Shaw, we celebrate her life, her kindness, and the indelible mark she made on the hearts of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
