Mary E. Clegg

Mary E. Clegg, age 92, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025, in Marcellus, Michigan. Born Mary E. Skaggs on September 5, 1933, in Kentucky, she lived a vibrant life full of love, family, and cherished memories.

Mary's journey through life began in her hometown of Kentucky, where her roots ran deep. As a loving mother, she moved to Illinois while raising her five children, and providing them with a nurturing home. In the 1980s, she returned to Kentucky, embracing her southern heritage once more. After the passing of her husband Paul, she moved to Michigan, where she continued to build a legacy of love and family.

Mary adored her family, particularly her 18 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren with whom she was very generous with and was always showering with affection and kindness. Her joy extended beyond family, as she relished outings to the casino and enjoyed long walks.

Mary is survived by her five children,Judy (Lowell) Gray, Bonnie Ferguson, Sandy Pfaff, Marsha (Maurice) Koonce, and Darrell Lobb; 18 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her two brothers, Ham and Garland; and her sister, Doris. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul Clegg; her first husband and the father of her children, Walter Lobb; her parents, Nora Allen and Thomas Skaggs; and her brother, Twyman Skaggs.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation, which will take place on October 22, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM at Family First Funeral & Cremation Services in Marcellus, Michigan. Mary E. Clegg will be remembered fondly by all who knew her, leaving behind a rich legacy of love and cherished memories that will echo in the hearts of her family forever.
