Martha Mary Moore

November 12, 1948 — June 20, 2025

Kalamazoo, MI

Martha Mary Moore, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Kalamazoo, Michigan, on June 20, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on November 12, 1948, in Kalamazoo, Martha was a vibrant soul who brought joy and laughter to all fortunate enough to know her.

Martha dedicated herself to her career as a beautician for 30 years, where her keen eye for beauty and her warm heart left lasting impressions on her clients. Her professional acumen was complemented by her educational achievements, earning a Master's degree in Business, which she applied with wisdom throughout her life.

Among those who hold her memory dear are her cherished daughters, Cynthia Moore and Bridgette Moore. Known for her sense of humor, Martha's witty nature often brought laughter to her family gatherings, and as Cynthia lovingly remarked, she could “be a funny shit.” Beyond her comedic personality, her nurturing spirit extended to her beautiful garden, where she exhibited her impressive green thumb.

Martha cherished precious moments spent at the family cottage at Pine Lake in Barry County, MI, where laughter and love were intertwined with the natural beauty surrounding them. Her legacy continues through her adoring grandchildren: MacKenzie Moore, DeAndre Hines, Olivia Melsa, Kai Flegel, Samuel Hess, and her great-grandchild, Rinicia Salter. Each of them carries a piece of her heart and humor within them.

Martha is also survived by her dear siblings, Marion, Joe, and Jamie, who will forever remember her with warmth and fondness. She shared a special bond with her sister-in-law, Patricia, who stood close by her side during life’s journey. Her family ties extended lovingly to her niece Abbi (Rusty) Patterson, nephews David (Anna) Birdsall and Joseph Birdsall. She also held close friendships with Lise Thompson and Val Mickley, who knew the joy of Martha’s laughter and love.

Martha joins her parents, Albert and Joyce Birdsall, her brother, John, and her sister-in-law, Pauline. Though they are no longer with us, their love and guidance were deeply embedded in Martha’s life and will be felt always.

As we reflect on the laughter, memories, and the unwavering love Martha shared, we are grateful for the impact she made on this world. Her laughter will echo in our hearts, and her spirit will continue to inspire us as we remember a beautiful woman who truly made life brighter for all she encountered.

Cremation has been entrusted to Family First Funeral & Cremation Services, 52780 M40, Marcellus, MI 49067. There are no services scheduled at this time.
