Mark L. Myers, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, surrounded by his loving family. Born on February 10, 1954, in Rock Island, Illinois, Mark lived a life marked by warmth, humor, and a genuine ability to connect with people.

Known for his affable and goofy nature, Mark was well-liked by many. His gift for conversation was remarkable; he could talk to anyone about anything, bridging generational and social gaps with ease and grace. Whether exchanging stories at the Gull Road Tavern—where he was affectionately known as "Doc"—or sharing quiet moments at his beloved cabin in Wellston, Michigan, Mark brought joy and companionship to those fortunate enough to know him.

A man of diverse interests, Mark delighted in golfing and building model trains, each providing a unique form of relaxation and creativity. His passion for history, particularly the Civil War era, showcased his inquisitive mind and deep appreciation for the stories that shape our past. Mark’s devotion to his dog, Finnigan, was another testament to his caring nature and generous heart.

Mark is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Kathy Myers, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories and unwavering partnership. He leaves behind two devoted children, Janet Bishop (Brian Cavey) and Diane Horrocks, who carry forward his legacy with pride and affection. Mark was a proud grandfather to Samantha Bishop and Tyler Bishop, and a delighted great-grandfather to Isaac Bishop and Allison Bishop, all of whom brought him immense joy.

He is also survived by his brother, Tim Myers. Mark’s parents, Kenneth and Geraldine Myers, and his sister, Sue Earwood, preceded him in death.
