Mark A. Kolka, 65, died on September 15, 2026, in Muskegon, Michigan.

Mark enjoyed hunting, fishing, and street bikes, and he found great happiness in the outdoors and in the simple pleasures of time well spent with those he loved. He was also a drummer and played for many years in the band, Back Again, sharing his love of music with others and leaving lasting memories through those performances.

He shared more than 39 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Sandra. Mark and Sandy were married on April 16, 1987, in Grand Haven, and built a life together marked by companionship and many happy memories. Among those treasured moments were the day trips they took on the bike, time spent at the Tubbs family cottage at Wolf Lake, and camping with Mark’s family. Those experiences reflected the joy he found in being with the people closest to him.

Mark had a playful spirit and will be remembered as someone who could be a goofball, who liked to tease people in fun, and who truly valued his friendships. His warmth, humor, and easy way with others made him a memorable presence in the lives of family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Kolka; his sons, Christopher (Peggy) Hoisington and Travis Kolka; his grandchildren, Abbie Rose Miller and Jonathan Hoisington; and his great-grandsons, Killian, Kaison, and Caspian. He is also survived by his siblings, Roy Kolka, Debbie (Ron) Brown , Kim Kolka, and Linda (Brad) Peterson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Phyllis Kolka; his brother, Steve Kolka; and his father and mother-in-law, Richard and Patricia Tubbs.

Mark’s memory will live on in the stories, laughter, music, and shared adventures that meant so much to him and to those who knew him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 17, 2026 from 3pm-5pm at Country Estates, 14700 State Rd., Spring Lake, MI 49456.
