Marian R. Jones

September 9, 1937 — April 30, 2025

Otsego, Michigan

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Marian R. Jones of Otsego, who has gone to be with her God on April 30, 2025. Marian, born September 9, 1937 at Plainwell's William Crisp Hospital, leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will forever be etched in the hearts of her family and friends.

Marian was the heartbeat of her family, known for her warmth and generosity. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life—whether it was gathering with loved ones at Swan Lake or enjoying serene moments by a campfire up north with her favorite beverage in hand. Her kitchen was always filled with the comforting aromas of her beloved dishes, as she took great pride in hosting family gatherings, planning reunions, and celebrating the holidays. Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas will forever be remembered not just for the food, but for the love and togetherness she fostered.

Marian leaves behind a beautiful legacy, carried forward by her five beloved children: Bob (Terri) Jones, Robin (Ken) Davis, and Arnold (Nora) Jones, all of Gobles; Bruce (Ruthann) Jones of Leslie; and Diane (Danny) Connor of Otsego. She shared not only her love and wisdom but also her wonderful sense of humor, which lives on in her children, bringing joy and laughter to those around them.

She will be dearly missed by her loving sister, Nancy Yoakam, as well as by the generations of family she nurtured—her cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, whose lives she touched with warmth and kindness. Her gentle spirit remains in the comfort of her two precious cats, Muffin and Mittens, and in the hearts of those who held her dear, including her close friend, Lori Jones.

Marian was welcomed into eternal peace by those she loved and missed dearly: her devoted husband, Arnold (Hootch) Jones, whose steadfast presence filled her days with warmth; her beloved children, Vickie Hofacker and David Jones, who carried pieces of her heart; her cherished brother, Dale Porter, with whom she shared lifelong memories; and her precious grandchildren, Brian Jones and Jaime McLean, along with her great-granddaughter, Addie Rae Rife, whose bright spirits left lasting imprints on her soul. She is now reunited with her loving parents, Laverda Czepiel and Freeman Porter, whose guidance and love shaped the beautiful person she became.

Though Marian has left this world, her love endures, woven into the lives she touched and the memories she created. Her spirit shines through those she nurtured, watching over them with the same unwavering warmth that defined her life. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. As we remember Marian, let us honor the joy she brought and carry her memory with us, a lasting reminder of the love she so freely gave.
