Margo Fair, resident of Lake Doster, passed away on April 26, 2025, at the age of 56, following a sudden cardiac event. Born on February 8, 1969, in Kalamazoo, she was the treasured daughter of the late John Dee Fair and Shirley Ann (Kennedy) Fair.
From the moment she entered a room, Margo’s vibrant personality was impossible to miss. She brought joy and light to all occasions, whether celebrating Michigan Football with friends or collaborating with colleagues at work. Margo devoted 30 years in the convenience store industry, rising through the ranks to become a Market Manager overseeing stores across Michigan. Her dedication and excellence earned her a prestigious Star Award for maintaining outstanding conditions at Clark stores, a testament to her work ethic and commitment to her team.
A passionate golfer, Margo cherished her time at Ridgeview Golf Course where she proudly held the title of Club Champion and celebrated the thrill of a hole-in-one. Beyond the greens, Margo found immense joy in the water—boating, fishing, and floating brought her peace and happiness. Her lighthearted spirit shone in her love for playing slot machines, much to the delight of those around her.
Music was a cornerstone of Margo’s life. Known for her extraordinary playlists that began as mixed tapes, she knew how to lift the party with music as the cocktails flowed. Her love for 70's music was contagious, especially when it came to the soulful sounds of Earth, Wind & Fire. The song "Be Ever Wonderful" resonated deeply with her, reflecting her gift of seeing the wonderful in every person and creature she encountered, often encouraging even the tiniest ants to find a new home and gently guiding flies out into the open air.
Margo cherished her cats, who she considered her children, showering them with affection and creative nicknames, just as she did for her family and friends. She is survived by her loving spouse, Suzy (aka Rachel) Wunderlich; siblings, John Dee (Brian Wiebusch) Fair, Mary (Phil aka Bucky) Early, and Joe (Mari May) Fair; cherished nephews, Ted (Meg Reynolds) Ely, Dan (Christina Kopanski) Ely, and Ryan Vetter-Fair; and niece, Jen (Justin) Force, along with countless cousins, in-laws, and friends who were touched by her warmth and kindness.
To honor Margo’s remarkable life, a casual open house celebration will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 2-5 PM at the Lake Doster Clubhouse, located at 116 Country Club Blvd, Plainwell. Guests are encouraged to wear their favorite University of Michigan gear and bring along cherished memories to share, perhaps even their golf clubs for a round in her honor.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Kalamazoo Animal Rescue (https://www.kalamazooanimalrescue.org/donate/), where Margo adopted her beloved feline companions. Her spirit of compassion and love for all living things will forever remain in our hearts.
