Marcia Sue Lofts, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2026, in Marcellus, Michigan. Born on April 20, 1950, in Three Rivers, Michigan, Marcia was a spirited and adventurous soul who touched the lives of many.

Marcia graduated from Marcellus High School in 1968 and furthered her education at Lansing Business School, graduating in 1969. The diverse experiences she embraced shaped her professional journey, which included roles as an Administrative Assistant in Admissions at Western Michigan University, a Librarian at Midland Public Schools, a Dental Assistant, and an assistant trainer for Walking Horses. However, her most cherished role was serving as a Teaching Assistant, where she truly found her calling in nurturing and inspiring young minds.

Throughout her life, Marcia's vibrant personality shone brightly. Adventurous and bubbly, she had an innate ability to connect with people, always wearing a warm smile. Her patience and caring nature endeared her to those who had the pleasure of knowing her. Marcia and her devoted husband, Ronald Lofts, shared a deep bond marked by love and camaraderie. Together, they opened their hearts and home as loving foster parents to numerous children over the years, embodying kindness and compassion.

Marcia’s family includes her devoted husband Ronald, her two daughters, Alecia (Scotty) Bartlett of North Carolina, and Sarah (Jerrod) Lofts of Florida. She was also a loving foster mother to Heather McHone of South Carolina, and her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Alex and Britney, and her great-grandchild, Waylon. She is also survived by her sister, Linda (Terry) Newell, who will forever cherish their memories together.

Marcia was a long-time member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she was able to share her faith and connect with her community. She enjoyed motorcycle rides with Ron, and they often spent time camping and backpacking, forging unforgettable memories along the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary (Rumsey) Hirshey, and her son, Jared Lofts.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at Family First Funeral & Cremation Services 52780 M-40, Marcellus, MI 49067. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 PM, with interment to follow at Bly Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cass County Council on Aging https://www.casscoa.org/support-your-cass-county-coa

Marcia leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and adventure that will continue to inspire her family and all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered in the hearts of those she loved.
