Manuel Gilbert-Paul Rodriguez, Born on February 19th, 1980 age 46, passed away unexpectedly on June 13th, 2026 leaving behind a family who loved him deeply and will miss him dearly.

Gilbert was a sensitive, caring and funny man. Those who knew him best knew the kindness in his heart, his sense of humor and the joy he found in the simple things he loved.

He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, going shopping, watching movies, adding to his many collections and of course his walks. He loved being around people and could often make them laugh with his unique personality. His family will remember not only the challenges he faced, but also the smiles he brought, the love he shared and his special grin.

His family is especially grateful for the staff and friends at CreeksideRresidential Care, who helped care for him, support him, and who became an important part of his life.

Gilbert was preceded in death by his father Manuel Rodriguez and by his grandfather Paul True.

He is survived by his mother, Julieanne True, his grandmother Pamela True, his siblings Angelina Akers, Amanda (Dan) Foco,Sarah Buzby,Justin (Brooke) Mckessy,Nathan Elkins and Nicole Sperbeck, aunts and uncle, Tracy (Brian),Gaston and Jayne True, nieces and nephews, Jacob (Stacy) Akers,Darrin Crandall,and Sidney Crandall, his cousins, Abigail (Jeff) Poland, Amanda Gaston and Brianna (Tyler) Berry, along with many extended family members, friends, caregivers and loved ones.

His memory will live on through stories shared, laughter remembered and the love that remains.

A ceremony will be held on July 11th 2026 at 2909 W. Genessee, Lansing, Mi. 48917 from 1-5 pm
