Lynda Lee
Repins
March 12, 1938 – May 21, 2026
First United Methodist Church
Starts at 2:00 pm (Eastern time)
It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, Lynda Lee (Hawkins) Repins. She left us peacefully on May 21, 2026, at the age of 88, surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren.
Born on March 12, 1938, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Lynda was the daughter of John and Alta Hawkins. After graduating from Western State High School in 1956, she married her first husband, Vern Hodapp, with whom she had three children. She built a successful 25-year career with First National Bank/PNC Bank, working her way up from teller to branch manager. Following her retirement from the bank, she brought her bright energy to Wings Stadium as an usher for hockey games, concerts, and events. She eventually transitioned to Wings West, where she worked in the office with KOHA and open skating, dedicating a total of 32 years of service to the venues.
In 1979, Lynda married the love of her life, Peter Repins. Together, their family grew into a beautifully blended group of three girls and three boys, affectionately known as “The Brady Bunch.” Above all, she was the ultimate matriarch—known as “The Big Kahuna” to many of her grandchildren and “Super Grandma” to most of her great-grandchildren. She lived a life beautifully woven with courage and strength, embracing everything life had to offer. Lynda loved being surrounded by her family and friends, and she was an active fixture in her community. She held a deep love for Lake Michigan and its beautiful beaches, and she cherished more than 40 years of memories made at Family Camp. Lynda thoroughly enjoyed her bowling leagues, golf league, Dominoes, Knit Wits, Encore, The 29ers, The Asbury’s, traveling, and socializing with neighbors in her garage, which she fondly dubbed “The Garage Gang.”
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Alta Hawkins; her husband, Peter Repins; and her brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Joyce Hawkins, and Jerry and Shirley Hawkins.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and is survived by her children: Belynda (John) Hodapp Hudspeth, Don (Jennifer) Hodapp, Tara (Jeff) Hodapp Vondell. Her stepchildren: Teresa (Mike) Speese, Mike (Angie) Repins, and Pat (Rainey) Repins. Her 14 grandchildren; her 10 great-grandchildren; and many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A Funeral Service and Celebration of Life will be held on August 22, 2026, at 2pm at the First United Methodist Church, located at 212 S. Park Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49007.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to Lake Michigan Family Camp at http://lakemichigancamp.org or by mailing to Lake Michigan Family Camp 5807 Ridge Road Pentwater, MI 49449.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her!
