Lucille Joyce (Ketchum) Ruttan, age 92, of Mason, Michigan, passed away on March 13, 2026 at McLaren Greater Lansing Hospital. She was born June 15, 1933 in Stockbridge, Michigan to Silas Eugene Ketchum and Gladys Elvira (Meabon) Ketchum.

Lucille was a quiet and reserved woman who found comfort in the simple things in life. She enjoyed her solitude and carried a gentle spirit that those close to her understood well. Above all, she was a loving mother whose care and devotion to her family shaped much of her life. She found joy in reading, spending time working on crafts, and appreciating the peaceful moments that came with a slower pace of life.

As a young woman she enjoyed traveling and spending time with family at lake houses. One of the trips she often spoke about from her younger years was visiting Washington D.C. She also traveled along the coastline from Florida northward, experiences that remained fond memories throughout her life.

Lucille shared 63 years of marriage with her husband, Robert Dale Ruttan. The two met in Mason at her father’s gravel pit, a simple meeting that would grow into a lifetime together. Through the years Lucille faithfully stood beside her husband as both an Army wife and a pastor’s wife, supporting him and their family with quiet strength and steady devotion.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Dale Ruttan who passed away in 2015, her parents Silas Eugene Ketchum and Gladys Elvira Ketchum, her son Robert Ruttan Jr., and her son in law Bill Norton.

Lucille is survived by her daughters Yvonda (Vonda) Desormier and her husband Robert, Kathryn Norton, and Jo Anna Ankney and her husband Tim. She also leaves behind many loved and cherished grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren who will continue to carry her memory forward.

Lucille will be remembered for her gentle nature, her quiet strength, and the deep love she held for her family. Her life was lived simply and faithfully, and those who knew her will remember the warmth and steadiness she brought to their lives.
