Lorraine Elizabeth Koloseik, age 94, of Shelbyville, MI , went to be with our Lord and Savior on September 29, 2026. Lorraine passed away at Kairos Dwelling in Kalamazoo with her loving best friends at her side. She was born on April 4, 1932 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Arthur and Sylvia Koloseik. At the age of 15, her family moved to a farm in Hopkins Township. There, Lorraine enjoyed riding horses and made many life long friends. She attended and graduated high school from Wayland Union Schools. Lorraine then went on to college and graduated from Western Michigan University and soon after began working at Wayland Schools as the Administer of Finance. After her retirement, Lorraine continued many business ventures and was a successful entrepreneur - from horse transport, to a wondercloth business, and real estate investing. She loved farming, raising goats, natural remedies and sharing advice on natural health.

Many remember Lorraine from local farmer's markets where she would sell her homemade goats milk soaps and some of her many handmade crafts. Lorraine was one to make friends wherever she went, and made a positive impact on all those around her. She had an easy going, infectious personality. She loved life and those close to her and was always eager to offer a helping hand. Lorraine will be deeply missed by many.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Sylvia Koloseik. She is survived by her sister, Marion Melville of Kalamazoo. A memorial and celebration of Lorraine's life will be held Sunday, October 18, 2026 at the VFW Hall in Otsego from 1pm-3pm, 124 N. Farmer St. Otsego, MI 49078. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Kairos Dwelling, in memory of Lorraine Koloseik.
