Lisa Mary Hoag, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and best friend, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026, in Paw Paw, Michigan, surrounded by her loving family. Born on April 18, 1966, in Dearborn, Michigan, Lisa was a free‑spirited, adventurous soul who touched the lives of many.
Lisa was raised by her parents, Mary Christner and Ron (Sheila) Russell. She had many siblings, including Scott (Natasha) Russell, Jason (Kelly) Russell, Cheryl (Drew) Zahn, Warren (Jeanine) Brown, and Ken Newman.
Lisa graduated from high school in Gobles, Michigan, before starting her journey as a mother. She had the pleasure of traveling and living in many states, including Montana, Ohio, and Kansas. She eventually found her way back home to Michigan to live out the rest of her life.
She was a ray of sunshine, lighting up every room she walked into. She brightened every life she touched as they passed through hers. There were no passing days without a laugh shared, and not a soul could beat her sense of humor.
Lisa devoted her life to caring for others. She spent her free time listening to music, dancing, camping, gardening, crafting, and sharing memories with friends and family. She had a beautiful property with an orchard that she was very proud of. What made her most proud was being a mother to her beautiful children: Cody (Zoe), Jeremy (Jose), Tony (Holli), Jordan (Victoria), and Mandy (Hanna). Her legacy continues through her only grandson, Milo, whom she loved dearly.
The strength she carried was inspiring to each and every person she met. No matter the challenge at hand, she held unlimited serenity and grace through it all. She never wavered from having an open heart and open arms for every person she met.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 18, 2026, from 10am to 11am, followed by a Celebration of Life and Time of Sharing beginning at 11am at Family First Funeral & Cremation Services, 52780 M‑40, Marcellus, Michigan 49067. Cremation has taken place, and she will be laid to rest at a later date.
Lisa leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and adventure that will continue to inspire her family and all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but thoughtfully remembered in the hearts of those she loved.
