Linda Grace Oswalt, a cherished soul and pillar of strength, gracefully departed this life on December 6, 2025, at the age of 82, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering dedication. Born on September 17, 1943, in Vicksburg, MI, Linda spent her life nurturing her family and the family farm, where she dedicated her time to livestock management of the sheep and bookkeeping. Her contributions were as significant as they were heartfelt, reflecting a steadfast commitment that resonated through every aspect of her life.

Linda's journey was deeply intertwined with that of her beloved husband, John Oswalt, who preceded her in death just a few months prior, in August 2025. Together, they built a wonderful life, filled with joyous memories and a beautiful family. They were not only partners in love but also in business, celebrated widely for their shared accomplishments, including the honor of being named Sheep Producers of the Year. Their farm became a nurturing ground not only for livestock but also for aspiring veterinary students from MSU, a testament to their generosity and commitment to agriculture.

As a graduate of Vicksburg High School, Linda carried a strong-willed spirit characterized by warmth, caring, and love. She was not only a dedicated wife and mother but also a beloved grandmother and great-grandmother. Her children fondly remember growing up on the family farm, where evenings often meant packing up dinner with their mom and heading out to the fields to join John. Together, they would share meals by the combine, a simple yet treasured tradition that reflected Linda’s devotion to family and the joy she found in togetherness. Among her many hobbies, baking was a particular passion. The famous glass cookie jar in her kitchen became a beloved symbol, where generations of family and friends would eagerly reach for fresh cookies upon visiting the family home – a sweet tradition that spoke volumes of the love she infused into her baking and the joy it brought to those around her.

Linda is survived by her loving family, which includes her son Jeff (Brinda) Oswalt, daughter Sherry (Tom) Ihling, and son Justin (Jessica) Oswalt, along with her treasured grandchildren: John (Ellie), Nick, Bella (Matt), Lincoln, Ava (David), Sophia (Caitlin), Jaxson, Ruby, Lola, and Violet. She also leaves behind her adored great-grandchildren, Tommy and Isla. Her legacy continues to be felt through her numerous nieces, nephews, and many other family members and friends who loved her dearly.

Linda's life was marked by tender moments and traditions, like playing Yahtzee with John, a beloved pastime they enjoyed together for many years. Their devotion to each other created a home filled with love; a sanctuary that will forever echo with the laughter and cherished memories they cultivated together.

Preceding her in death were her devoted husband, John Oswalt; her brother, Kenneth Slanker; her sister, Janice Segerdahl; and her beloved granddaughter, Laila, who was the daughter of Justin and Jessica Oswalt.

In her final days at Birch Meadows Senior Care in Three Rivers, MI, Linda passed away peacefully, leaving behind a tapestry of memories that will continue to inspire and comfort her family and friends. Her nurturing spirit will forever remain in their hearts, a shining light guiding them through their lives. Linda Grace Oswalt will be remembered not only for her strength and determination but for the deep love she shared and the warmth that radiated from her very being.

A combined Memorial Service for John & Linda Oswalt will be held by the family at a later date.
