Born on January 14, 1957, in Dearborn, Linda was a shining light in her community and dedicated her life to her family and career.
A remarkable district manager for Family Dollar, overseeing operations in Upper Michigan and Northern Michigan, Linda's career was a paramount focus of her life. She was known for her work ethic and dedication, traits that were admired by colleagues and community members alike. Her commitment extended beyond her professional life; she was profoundly active in her local church, Creekside in Dowagiac, where she engaged in ministry work and volunteered alongside her husband, George, with Forgotten Men Ministries and Celebrate Recovery. She was a respected leader within her church community.
Linda was a true family person, cherishing the moments spent with her spouse, George Myrkle, as well as with her children, Jennifer (Terry) and Jason (Gretchen). Her heart swelled with pride for her grandchildren, Devin, Junior, Hannah, Haylyn, and Maryann, and her great-grandchildren, Malilianna and Isabella. Along with many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren that held a special place in her heart, and she took joy in being a central figure in their lives.
Sisters Coleen (Dennis) and Julie (Jeff) were always dear to her, and together they shared a bond rooted in love and support. Linda's parents, Louis and Mary Ann, who have preceded her in death, shaped her into the person she became, instilling in her values of kindness and commitment to family and faith.
While her professional life and family roles defined her existence, Linda had personal passions that brought her great joy. She dedicated herself to diamond paintings, enjoyed meticulously doing her nails weekly—a task she insisted on performing herself—and appreciated moments of solitude while working on her projects. A love for travel stirred within her, especially towards the beauty of Northern Michigan, evoking fond memories from her past, and she longed for escapes to her favorite places.
Linda's playful spirit shone through in her love for her two beloved cats, Tango and Radar, whom she showered with affection. George often remarked that he felt like he won the lottery when he married her; she brought organization and a comforting presence to his life.
Linda Lee Myrkle leaves behind a legacy marked by love, devotion, and service. Her unwavering spirit will continue to inspire those she cherished and the countless lives she touched throughout her journey.
