IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Krishna Mohini
Vasudeva
November 10, 1941 – November 5, 2025
In loving memory of Krishna Mohini Vasudeva, affectionately known as Mona, who graced the world with her vibrant spirit from November 10, 1941, until her departure from this life on November 5, 2025. Born in India, Mona embodied a mosaic of cultures, passions, and cherished memories that beautifully intertwined to form the remarkable tapestry of her life.
Before embarking on her global journey, Mona was a dedicated high school teacher, instilling knowledge and inspiration in her students. She later lived in many different countries—India, Tanzania, Antigua, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, and Jamaica—before eventually settling down in Michigan. Mona had a remarkable gift for turning each new place into a warm and welcoming home, creating a sense of belonging wherever she went.
Mona was a woman of many talents and an unwavering zest for life. She pursued her Masters in Indian Classical Music, where her passion for the sitar flourished, filling the air with melodies that echoed the depths of her soul. Her love for music was rivaled only by her culinary prowess; she delighted in the art of cooking, crafting dishes that brought joy to family and friends alike. Her garden stood as a testament to her nurturing spirit, flourishing under her careful tending, much like the relationships she fostered throughout her life.
A magnetic personality, Mona possessed an infectious sense of humor and a fun-loving nature that endeared her to all who were fortunate enough to know her. She was the quintessential mother, a gentle caretaker. Socializing was at the heart of her existence; she cherished moments spent with others, whether it be enjoying the latest Indian soap operas on television or sharing laughter over home-cooked meals with family.
Her warmth extended beyond her immediate family, enveloping all who crossed her path in a cocoon of kindness and hospitality. A meticulously organized individual, she took great pride in creating a comfortable haven for herself and her loved ones. Through her meticulous care for herself—whether in the precision of her manicured nails or the graceful styling of her hair—Mona emanated confidence and elegance.
Mona is survived by her beloved children, Monish Vasudeva, Zaira Chaudhry, and Bindu Vasudeva Kurra, who carry forth her legacy of love and creativity. She was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren, each of whom was a source of immense joy in her life. She is also survived by a sibling, with whom she shared a lifetime of treasured memories and enduring familial love.
Mona was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Parshotam Sarup Vasudeva, and her dear parents, Harbans Lal Sharma and Yashodha Sharma, along with three siblings, who now warmly embraces her in eternal rest.
As we gather to honor the memory of Mona, we reflect on the vibrant legacy she leaves behind—one filled with love, laughter, and an indomitable spirit. May her life remind us to cherish every moment, embrace our passions, and love deeply.
