Kenneth Ross Campbell, age 82, passed away on August 1, 2026. Kenneth was born to John and Gladys Campbell. He also shared a special and deeply meaningful bond with Carmen Campbell, whom he considered his mother. He graduated from Springfield High School in 1961. In February 1968, Kenneth began working for Eaton Corporation where he remained until April 1983. Kenneth loved to fish and hunt and was an avid sports enthusiast. He enjoyed bowling and golfing and was a proud member of the local 196 State Softball Championship team. One of his greatest joys was watching all of his grandchildren play sports and cheering them on.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Gladys Campbell; Carmen Campbell, the woman he lovingly considered his mother; and his stepbrother, Butch Messenger. Kenneth is survived by his sons, John Campbell and Jeffrey (Cindy) Campbell; his former wife, Dawn Campbell; his brothers, John Robert Campbell and Fredrick (Becky) Campbell; his sister, Gloria; and his stepsister, Connie Messenger. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kenny Campbell, Dawn Campbell, Courtney (Jeremy) Carter, Cody Campbell, and Christian Gothard; as well as six great-grandchildren.

Kenneth will be remembered for his love of family, his passion for sports and the outdoors, and especially the joy he found in watching his grandchildren. The memories he created with his family will be cherished forever. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, August 23, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Riverside Golf and Banquet Center. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate Kenneth’s life. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family or to a charity of one’s choice.
