IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Judith Kay
Tassos
January 7, 1949 – January 27, 2026
Judith Kay Tassos (Novak), a resident of Kalamazoo, passed away peacefully at Rose Arbor in Kalamazoo on January 27, 2026. She was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on January 7, 1949.
A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Judith lived a life marked by faith, dedication, and quiet generosity. She was reunited in eternal rest with her parents, Rev. Steve and Janette Novak of Battle Creek, who went before her.
She leaves behind her devoted husband, Richard Tassos, her partner in life since their marriage in the spring of 1972. She is also lovingly remembered by her daughter, Rachel Baig (Anjum), and her treasured grandsons, Mohiuddin (Nariman) and Mustafa, who brought her endless pride and joy.
In her youth, Judith was an accomplished equestrian, earning many awards and developing a strong work ethic that stayed with her throughout her life. She carried that same dedication into her service on the school board of Battle Creek Christian School and in her work with Rainsoft Corporation and Walmart. Wherever she was, she gave her best and served with heart.
A faithful follower of Jesus Christ, she was a frequent attendee of 12th Street Baptist Church in Kalamazoo. Her heart for service extended far beyond her immediate circle — she was a passionate supporter of humanitarian and equestrian charities, always striving to make the world a kinder and better place.
Her warmth, strength, compassion, and unwavering faith will be deeply missed by all who had the blessing of knowing her.
Memorial contributions in her honor may be made to Kalamazoo Gospel Ministries, 448 North Burdick Street, Kalamazoo, Michigan 49007.
