Judith Kay Kruizenga, age 88, of Michigan, passed away on April 4, 2026, in Battle Creek, Michigan. She was born on August 19, 1937, in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Judith lived a life full of personality and connection. She was known as spunky, fun loving, and opinionated in the very best way. She was a very social person who truly enjoyed being around others and made lasting impressions wherever she went.

She had a deep love for the outdoors and cherished the time spent with her husband and family. Summers were often filled with boating and camping, especially at their special place in Mecosta County, creating memories that her family will hold close for years to come. Judith also had an appreciation for vibrant colors, especially pink, which reflected her lively spirit.

Judith dedicated over 25 years of her career to Grand Rapids Public Schools. She later retired early alongside her husband, and together they embraced that season of life, enjoying their time as snowbirds in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

She met the love of her life during her high school years in the mid 1950s, and the two were married in 1957, beginning a lifelong partnership built on love, shared experiences, and family.

Judith is survived by her children Timothy (JoAnn) Kruizenga, Todd (Cindy) Kruizenga, and Tracy Bronson; her grandchildren Sarah Bronson, Jacob (Rachel) Bronson, Meagan (Kruizenga) Rodriguez, and Zachary Kruizenga; her great grandchild Nyxen Rodriguez, and a set of twins on the way; and her sister in law Phyllis Johnson.

She is preceded in death by her husband David Kruizenga, her parents Roy and Helen Johnson, and her brother Steven Johnson.

Judith will be remembered as a vibrant, outgoing woman who loved deeply, spoke her mind, and brought energy and warmth into every room she entered. Her presence will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
