Jerry passed away August 20, 2026 in St. Joseph Michigan. The son of the late Carol Murawski and John Hansen, he was born on March 10, 1956 in Long Beach CA but grew up and spent most of his life in Gobles, MI. Jerry attended Gobles High School and served a brief time in the United States Army. He returned home and assisted his parents, Carol and Dick, bartending at the bar they owned in Gobles (Murawski's Tavern) making many lifelong friends. Jerry had a big heart and good soul. He was a great cook, often preparing and taking food to his older friends at the bar. He loved fishing, biking, cooking and walking - especially around Maple Lake in Paw Paw where he lived in recent years. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father, Richard Murawski, grandparents, his Uncle Bill and nephew Jake. Surviving are his siblings, Tammy (Jeff) Price of Florida, Jim Hansen of Florida, Jay (Michelle) Hansen of Florida, Lorry Hansen of New Zealand, Jon (Susan) Hansen of Washington, Edna (Randy) Smith of Michigan and Rich Murawski of Maryland, many nephews and niece, cousins and life-long friends. Also surviving his girlfriend Michelle. Our family wants to extend a huge thanks and heartfelt gratitude to Pace of SW Michigan namely his "buddies" Nick and Tom and staff, Jackie at Helping Hands in Lawrence MI, The Willows in St. Joseph and staff, Corewell Hospice and all who cared for Jerry. We love and will miss you big brother until we see you again someday. Rest well and in peace now Jer.
