Jason Michael Aiello, born on May 13, 1980, in Park Ridge, IL, passed away on December 5, 2025, in Kalamazoo, MI, entering into eternal rest surrounded by love and light. He had a profound impact on his community and is remembered for his dedication to both his faith and education.

A devoted Deacon at St. Monica Catholic Church, Jason demonstrated his commitment through his active involvement in the parish. He shared his gifts as a talented pianist, not only playing music for the church but also serving as the choir director. His many passions extended beyond the church walls. He was an Eagle Scout and he taught Comparative Religion at Western Michigan University, inspiring countless students along the way.

Jason had a longstanding relationship with the arts, exemplified by his role in running the theater department and choir at Hackett Catholic Prep. He was known for his traditional approach to every holiday but especially the Christmas season, embracing the values and customs that made the holidays so special to him and his family.

Outside of his professional and religious commitments, Jason had an array of interests that included a love for all kinds of music, a keen eye for critiquing cinema, and a talent for cooking and baking. His creative pursuits contributed to the warmth and joy he brought into the lives of those around him.

He is survived by his six children, Sarah Aiello (Jordan Bruner), Becca Aiello (Jaiden Green), Noah Aiello, Mary Aiello, Aaron Aiello, and Anna Aiello; his mother, Theresa Aiello; and his two brothers, Steven Aiello (Erin) and Daniel Aiello (Jennifer Romo); as well as the mother of his children, Nicolle Aiello. Jason was predeceased by his father, Ralph Aiello.

Jason’s genetic disease was quite rare and considering that not very many people know the details of his disease, his family encourages others to do just some brief research on it. Here is a quick link for you to use so that you can explore and learn just a bit about what his disease was like. https://www.ataxia.org/what-is-ataxia/

Aside from his 6 children, Jason's proudest accomplishments include earning a music scholarship to attend WMU, founding a CCD and Vacation Bible School program at St. Joseph Catholic Church, and working with the CCD program at St. Monica. His legacy lives on through his family, his contributions to education, and the many lives he touched with his witty humor, kindness and unwavering spirit.

A Memorial Mass for Jason will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025, beginning at 11:00 am at St. Monica Catholic Church 4408 S. Westnedge Ave. Kalamazoo, MI 49008.
