James Lee Kolean, born on July 1, 1969, in Holland, Michigan, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2026, at his home in Grand Junction, Michigan surrounded by his loving family.

James lived a life filled with fond memories and meaningful connections. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Suzanne, and a proud father to his three children: Jacob Kolean, Tyler (Autumn) Moureau, and Alexandria (Nicholas) Kohl. Among those he cherished most was his beloved granddaughter, Adalynn Moureau, with whom he especially enjoyed spending time. Also surviving are his mother, Betty Kolean, along with his two sisters, Dr. Joanne (Tim) Vredeveld and Julie (Terry) LeBaron. His family and circle of friends recall his warmth, kindness, and unwavering loyalty. Among those friendships, his bond with his best friend, Dean Heyboer, stood out as a source of joy and steadfast support throughout his life. James was preceded in death by his father, Terry Kolean.

A man of the outdoors, James enjoyed hunting and fishing, finding peace and fulfillment in nature’s embrace. Equally precious to him were moments spent simply hanging out with his friends and family.

He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his love for the great outdoors, and his unwavering dedication to those he held dear. James Kolean’s life was a testament to the strength of family and friendship, and his memory will remain a blessing to all who knew him.
