Gloria M. O’Brien (née Tolfree) passed away peacefully on July 11, 2026, in St. Joseph, MI, at the age of 82. Born on September 1, 1943, at St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw, MI, Gloria lived a life marked by unwavering care for others, deep love for her family, and dedication to her calling as a nurse.

From a young age, Gloria knew she was meant to become a nurse. She pursued this dream at St. Mary’s Nursing School, earning her LPN and embarking on a career that shaped not only her professional life but filled her days with purpose. Gloria gained invaluable experience working as a visiting nurse and in various nursing positions, before returning home to St. Mary's Hospital. There, she met Frances O'Brien, the love of her life, whom she married in 1994. Together, their bond was a source of comfort and joy.

Gloria's devotion to her family was steadfast and unconditional. She is survived by her son, John A. March; daughters, Kelly Kisanne and Beverly Boers; her son-in-law, Jim Boers; and her cherished grandchildren, John March, Kayla March, Holly March-Morris, Cierra Boers, and Sage Boers. Her love also extended to her siblings: brothers George, David, Gerry, Tom, and Rocky Tolfree; and her sisters-in-law, Kathy and Linda Tolfree. Gloria’s deep familial ties reached across generations, embracing numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Gloria’s warmth and kindness live on in the memories she created with her loved ones. She adored spending time with her family, whether baking, sewing, making crafts, or enjoying camping trips. She brought laughter and joy to gatherings with friendly card games and lovingly shared her talents and passions with her children, their partners, and grandchildren.

She is reunited in rest with those who preceded her in death: her parents Herbert  and Agnes (Street) Tolfree, her beloved daughter Suzette Marie March, her sisters Mildred Frappier, Viola "Vi" Sugan, Margaret Shultz and Mary Bailey, her brother James Tolfree, and many sisters and brothers-in-law.

Gloria’s life will be honored in the hearts of those who loved her, and her presence will be sorely missed but never forgotten.
