Gina Marie Kuerbitz (Jipson), of Lansing, Michigan, passed away to be with our Lord on April 21, 2026. She was born on January 24, 1956, in Lansing, Michigan, to Myrna Lee Jipson (Hodge) and William Frederick Jipson.
Gina is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, David A. Kuerbitz; children Kelly A. LaGrave (Bill), Brian A. Kuerbitz (Laurie), and Kristin J. Kuerbitz; and her cherished grandchildren Katherine LaGrave (Jay), LT Jack Kuerbitz (LT Paola Rocha Romo), Suzette Kuerbitz, Rosemary Kuerbitz, and Ian Kuerbitz. She is also survived by her sister Gail Jipson and her brother Grant Jipson. Gina was preceded in death by her parents, Myrna and William Jipson, and her brother Greg Jipson.
Gina met her husband and soulmate, David, while working part-time as a bartender at the Frontier Restaurant. Dave would come in for a cup of coffee and use the quiet moments to finish his police reports-moments that soon became the highlight of his day because of Gina. What began as simple, everyday interactions grew into a deep connection and a beautiful 44-year marriage filled with love, family, travel, and adventure. They spent many winters in Gulf Shores, Alabama, creating cherished memories together.
Gina worked for Michigan National Bank, Midstate Title, and later as a District Manager for Boarshead. Upon retirement, she and Dave discovered a mutual passion for weaving and art shows. They devoted their time to creating beautiful woven pieces and traveling to shows within Michigan, finding joy in both the craft and the community it brought into their lives.
Gina was also a talented stained-glass artist, creating colorful pieces that reflected her creativity and attention to detail. She found great joy in raising monarch butterflies, nurturing them from tiny caterpillars to their delicate, winged beauty. These passions brought her peace, purpose, and a deep appreciation for the natural world.
Gina lived a life grounded in faith, compassion, and devotion to those she loved. She was known for her warm heart, her steady strength, and her ability to make others feel seen and cared for. Whether offering a listening ear, sharing a laugh, or lending a helping hand, Gina touched countless lives with her kindness.
Her presence will be deeply missed, but her love, faith, and gentle spirit will continue to guide all who were blessed to know her.
Funeral services will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 501 S. Clinton St., Grand Ledge, Michigan, on May 8, 2026. Visitation will take place that morning from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with the service to follow.
