Gerry Gilmore

Gerry Gilmore, a cherished husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on September 19, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on December 19, 1957, Gerry led a life characterized by kindness, hard work, and an unwavering love for his family.

He is remembered fondly for his love of good food, particularly when it was lovingly prepared by his beloved daughter, Yasmaine, whose famous fried chicken and mac n cheese never failed to fill his heart and home with joy. Moments spent around the dinner table were treasured by all who had the pleasure of sharing a meal with him.

Gerry was known for his passion for the simple pleasures in life. He found delight in watching classic television shows, with favorites such as "Sanford & Son" and "Green Acres" bringing laughter and nostalgia to his evenings. A devoted fan of sports, he took immense pride in attending events that celebrated the achievements of his children, a testament to his unwavering support and dedication as a father. His loyalty extended to his favorite teams, the Chicago Bulls and Chicago Bears, reflecting his zest for life and the thrill of competition.

In addition to his love of sports and food, Gerry was an avid reader of the Bible, finding solace and inspiration within its pages. His interests extended into the world of photography, where he enjoyed attending events that captured life's fleeting moments. His passion for music was also profound; he cherished the sounds of Michael Jackson and Prince, finding joy in the rhythm and melodies that filled the air.

Beyond his personal pursuits, Gerry served honorably in the Army for eleven years, embodying the spirit of duty and service that defined his character. He touched the lives of many, leaving a legacy of love and kindness that will forever resonate within the hearts of those who knew him.

Gerry is survived by his beloved children, Brandi (Yasmaine) and Michael, along with many cherished grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, whose lives he enriched in countless ways. He also leaves behind his siblings: Christopher (Shannon), Angela, Cheryl, Warren, and Ocie, each of whom carries forward the warmth and generosity that he embodied.

Gerry was preceded in death by his loving wife, Joyce Gilmore, whose memory he held close until his final days, as well as his parents, Warren and Jessie Gilmore, and his sister, Leslie.
